Fair questions, honest answers
Does the Fledgemark Check satisfy my state's testing requirement?
No — and we won't pretend otherwise. The Check is a diagnostic we built to help you plan. It isn't the kind of standardized test most state testing rules ask for, and no part of our report is designed to be filed with a school district.
Many states do require annual testing or another form of evaluation, and the rules vary a lot. We keep plain-language notes on every state's requirements, with citations: see what your state requires →
Is the Check timed?
No. There is no clock anywhere in it. Kids move one question at a time, pause between sections whenever they like, and everything saves automatically — a closed laptop just means "we’ll finish tomorrow."
What will the report actually tell me?
Skill by skill, in plain words: what your kid has mastered, what’s still developing, and a concrete suggestion for each gap. If a kid answers nearly everything right in a section, we flag that they hit the top of what the Check measures — that’s the test’s ceiling, not your kid’s.
What grades and subjects does it cover?
Reading and math for grades 3–8. You pick the grade level for each kid — most families pick the level they’ve been teaching, and that’s exactly right.
How does pricing work?
$19 per student covers both subjects — one payment, no subscription. Testing 3 or more kids caps at $49 total, because a big family shouldn’t be a billing event.
Who sees my kids’ answers?
You. Results live in your family account, archived year over year. We never sell family data. There’s one optional checkbox at checkout — fully off by default — that lets us use de-identified responses to improve the Check’s questions.
